A Neon Art Show About Love Ending Has a One-Night Stand a Day After Valentine’s Day
For the previous 3 decades, Denver artist Scott Young has lit up Denver along with his enchanting, mesmerizing and handmade neon art. From a little gallery series at RULE at 2016, to the “WISH YOU WERE HERE/HER” signal once beneath the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), to providing the opening exhibition at K Contemporary at 2017, Young keeps enticing more viewers with each new installation. And his standing as a arousing artist was buzzing. This weekend, Young will exhibit his latest body of work, Love Bully at B-Spot Gallery at RiNo to get one night just . Or, as Young would likely elude to in his work, a 1 night stand.
“The series is a cathartic departure from a lot of the work,” Young explained. “And also a departure from K Contemporary. I am moving to more minimalist conceptualism with my work. But keeping with the identical vernacular. And it s definitely going to be an wonderful party to observe all that. ”

Love Bully is the last part of a trilogy which Young was conceptualizing for a while, which began with the “WISH YOU WERE HERE/HER” signal and came to a head at the Gas Light Love Bomb series at K Contemporary. Where the previous work focused on the intricacies of relationships as well as the trials of falling in love, Love Bully will escort viewers to the “real world world of carnage” (as Young put it) which comes after love stinks. It’s no denying that the one-night-exhibition researching the remains of romanticism drops through the day after Valentine’s Day.
As Young describedthis final part of the trilogy is a step so far, such as K Contemporary. Instead of the walls and guidance of K Contemporary, Young looked to Arianna Biering to curate the display and B-Spot Gallery in RiNo to hang the work.
For the 1 night it’s open to the public, Young will kick off the day at 7:45 p.m. by talking the body of work then DJs Dtek & Hunter Leggitt will begin playing at 9 p.m.. Just as the series is all about the art, it’s about the ecstasy of letting go, or so the event will continue “until overdue ” since the event webpage says.
