Marcus King & MKB Members Guest With Tedeschi Trucks Band In Chattanooga
Even the Tedeschi Trucks Band Declared their winter tour on Wednesday night at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Auditorium in Chattanooga, Tennessee with Assistance from The Marcus King Band. Members of this MKB sat-in using the TTB in their encore as a portion of a show in which the band gave away free tickets to local first responders, furloughed government workers and active duty military personnel.
Susan Tedeschi along with Derek Trucks directed their group through a series of originals before setting up addresses of Jimmy Cliff’s “Sitting In Limbo” along with Allen Toussaint’s “Get Out Of My Life, Woman. ” The TTB’s “Made Up My Mind” followed before a drum solo that bled into “Let Me Get By. ” Next up was the recently surfaced Dr. John cover, “I Walk On Guilded Splinters” along with the blues regular “The Sky Is Crying. ” A jam on “Mountain Jam” then gave way to the Derek Trucks’ showcase “Midnight In Harlem. ” From that point, the TTB treated fans into a dual dose of Bob Dylan songs in the form of “Down In The Flood” along with “Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright. ”
Last evening ’s place concluded with a streak of “Do I Look Worried,” “Idle Wind” along with “The Storm. ” Tedeschi then called out MKB associates guitarist Marcus King, keyboardist Deshawn Alexander, saxophonist Dean Mitchell along with trumpeter Justin Johnson to get Joe Tex’s “Show Me” to end the day.
