Remembering Rick Danko: Performing With The Band & Others Aboard Festival Express
On December 10, 1999 musician Rick Danko passed away at the age of just 55. The Blayney, Ontario native best known for his contributions as a primary and vocalist bassist from The Band, Danko was an essential component to the radical rock band ’s success. In celebration Rick’s lifestyle, rsquo & this;s a glance back at the famous Festival Express Tour by his native Canada that took place in 1970 and showcased The Band, Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin and many others.
Captured from the movie of the identical title, the two clips came in the release that detailed the railway excursion that also watched performances by Buddy Guy, Delaney & Bonnie & Friends and The Flying Burrito Brothers. First is footage by your substance-enhanced jam that took place aboard the train between Danko, Joplin, Grateful Dead guitarists Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir along with New Riders Of The Purple Sage’s John “Marmaduke” Dawson. Rick assists and also plays guitar sing the impromptu rendition of this traditional “Ain’t No Cane” – watch the performance here:
