Looks like Dead & Company is planning a return to Boulder’s Folsom Field for fourth straight summer
It appears the Dead will grow in Folsom Field second summer, since the University of Colorado let the cat out of the bag Dead & Company’s intends to play Boulder for its fourth consecutive year.
The band — featuring John Mayer and also three of the four surviving members of the Grateful Dead — has not announced specifics of a summer 2019 tour. However, CU’s Athletic Department published event and ticketing info online a week to get a pair of Folsom Field concerts, scheduled for July 5 and 6, to be co-presented by promoters AEG Live and Live Nation.
The webpage on the cubuffs.com website listing the 2019 reveals was submitted sometime last week, according to Google search results, and was visible on Sunday prior to being taken off.

Tickets for Dead & Company’s Folsom Field dates were listed at $60.50 to $150.50 on CU’s website, with a collection of pre-sales starting Dec. 4 leading to the public on-sale in 10 a.m. Dec. 8.
When asked about the Dead & Company concerts, CU spokesman Ryan Huff said in an email, “We intend to host concerts in summer 2019, however we are not ready to announce anything yet on dates or rings. ”
Dead & Company has played with two-night stands in Folsom Field every summer because 2016, when the ring ended a 15-year dry spell for live audio in CU’s football stadium. Throughout ancient and the 1970s ’80s, Folsom Field was a concert venue, hosting the likes of the Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Van Halen as well as on occasions, the initial Grateful Dead.
Since CU resumed allowing audio in Folsom Field in 2016, no other band has been booked to play with the campus stadium. Dead & Company last played there this past July 13 and 14.
The supposed 2019 Dead & Company shows are set for the Friday and Saturday nights of the extended Fourth of July weekend, so Colorado rock fans can celebrate Memorial Day weekend with the Stones and invest a very long Independence Day weekend with the Dead.
Dead & Company includes singer-guitarist Bob Weir and drummers Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, all the Grateful Dead, plus singer-guitarist Mayer — a pop star in his own right — along with bassist Oteil Burbridge and keyboardist Jeff Chimenti.
