Dexter’s Beat Laboratory Vol. 61
Dexter’s Beat Laboratory is a weekly collection of tunes from DA managing editor Robyn Dexter. With a taste that can only be called diverse — to say nothing of a title which lends itself into punnery — DA is happy to present a selection of tracks curated by Dexter to the listening enjoyment.

One wouldn’t think Varien‘s darker style would blend well with a group like The Chainsmokers. But the Florida-based manufacturer is here to flex his flexibility with a brilliant rework of “This Feeling. ” He flips the tune ’s major key into a minor key and provides a more shadowy edge, going the synthwave path and giving the song a freshnew tone. “I think my remix brings a new method of looking at the song,” he states. “I think it’s a much more emotional and more profound vibecompared to this positive and cheerful vibe of the first. ”
In the end of August, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs debuted a groovy, bass-fueled first by the title of “Body Move. ” A few months later, he’s authored a remix package for its song, including the talents of Bag Raiders along with Raito. Raito, that often manufactures intense techno and house tracks like his Virtual Self flips, takes a smooth route on his TEED remix. Gliding percussion components provide a more relaxed vibe compared to the first, as Raito degrees out the tunes roots for a techno-oriented, humorous flip.
It’s ’s been a minute since we’ve noticed new substance out of Mt. Eden. The dynamic powerhouse manufacturer revealed a short mixtape in February and a “Lion King” remix in August, but has been silent. Figuring out he’s been cooking a fiery home song called “Momentum. ” Backed with his regular top-notch production and a sizable quantity of bassthis dancefloor-ready song shows Mt. Eden truly hasn’t shed any “momentum” and understands no genre limitations.
Becko‘s impeccable combination of beats, bass, along with alternative/emo-inspired vocals have come to be a favorite of mine. Drawing inspiration from “Stranger Things,” he’s branded his latest “Mindflayer” and published it via The Arcadium. His powerful vocals shine in this dramatic track, weaving in and out between thick synth melodies and climactic choruses. Originally released as a member of his DIGITAL HEAVEN EP a few months before, he showcases striking pieces that delight with every tune.
Rameses B has been busy this past year. He also ’s released no one, but two Spacewalk albums, every taking listeners to new heights with their astral-inspired tranquil productions. Rameses B returns after July’s Spacewalk II launch with “Portal” featuring GLaDOS. Glitchy vocals tell a tale of life and death above a psytrance backing. Bittersweet violin melodies swim in and out of this creation, interspersed seamlessly with components for a selection of genres. The manufacturer again illustrates why he’s captured so much attention over the past seven years with a piece which ’s as intriguing as it’s relaxing.
